The Cabin Retreat, A Sanctuary for the Soul, is a vision God gave me in 2012. The time was almost two years after a 28 year marriage had ended. In my pain and loneliness, a ministry was conceived. I had a desire to reach others who were hurting; those who needed healing and freedom.
I sought solitude in a weekend trip to Hawk’s Nest State Park in West Virginia. There, I felt close to God surrounded by the beauty of his creation. The beautiful mountains and the gushing of the New River brought a New Hope that one day God would turn my misery into a ministry of Living Waters. “Please God, don’t let my pain be in vain,” I prayed.
During that stay, God instructed me to sow a seed into a center for homeless children. “But God! I don’t think I should give that much money away.” I proclaimed. The quiet still voice of prompting remained. I obeyed. Later, I walked into the gift shop and a Log Cabin bank caught my eye. “This will be a sign to you that one day, the seed you have sown will return ten fold.”
I went home, excited and renewed. Then I waited and waited and waited. Would I ever see the promise come to fruition? I still don’t know. All I know is that five years later, God gave me the means to begin the ministry. The Cabin Retreat is open for relaxation, healing, restoration, connection, and inspiration. I want to see others set free, healed, and restored here at The Cabin Retreat.
In 2017, a prophecy was spoken to me. “ You are a Mother of Nations, as in there are different groups of people to whom you will be bringing the Word.” A few months later, God told me, “you will be the door opener for the gift of ministry through others.”
The door is open to you. Come be a part of an upcoming planned retreat, host your own, or just come lodge in this beautiful, serene place. This is a place where God’s glory resides.
